Nathan and T1D
At only 23 months old, Nathan was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes after presenting some of the primary symptoms referred to a the four T's -- thirst, toilet, thinner, and tired. After two years of learning about how the disease progresses and navigating the care system, Nathan is now completely insulin dependent and uses an insulin pump. Nathan has grown up with injections, finger pokes, pump site changes, and hospital visits. He is a brave and resilient little boy.

What is Type 1 Diabetes?
Type 1 diabetes is a serious autoimmune condition that occurs when your immune system mistakenly attacks beta cells within the pancreas, which then stop producing insulin. As a result, glucose levels in your blood start to rise, and your body can’t function unless you replace the insulin.
